What Rennsic is
Rennsic cross-references a VIN against listings that appeared on peer-to-peer rental platforms and reports what those listings showed: trip counts, listing dates and markets, listing photos, and, where renters left reviews, a classification of what they reported. The registry is a record of listings. It is not a record of the vehicle.
What Rennsic is not
- 1 Not an inspection. Nothing here comes from examining the car.
- 2 Not an appraisal. Rennsic states no value and no opinion of value.
- 3 Not an authentication. Rennsic does not verify identity, title, provenance, or ownership.
- 4 Not a title report. Accidents, liens, odometer records, and title events are outside the registry.
- 5 Not a prediction. A listing history says nothing about how a car will perform.
Limits of the data
The registry covers listings that appeared on the platforms it holds, for the periods it holds them. A VIN with no record may still have been rented. A record may be incomplete, out of date, or attached to a listing that misstated the vehicle.
Trip counts are the highest figure a listing showed and are not independently verified. Potential miles is an estimate, trips multiplied by a listing's daily mileage allowance, and is a ceiling from the allowance rather than an odometer reading.
Renter-reported condition is drawn from reviews renters left at the time of their trips: contemporaneous notes by the people who drove the car, reproduced and classified, not statements by Rennsic. They describe the car as those renters found it then, not its condition today, and a VIN with no review data has none in the index, which is not evidence of a clean history.
Aggregate figures on the Insights page come from a snapshot of the registry rebuilt on a schedule, dated at the top of that page, and describe the registry, not any particular car.
No warranty
Rennsic and its reports are provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Rennsic does not warrant that the registry is complete, that a report is correct, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error free.
Your decisions
A report is one input. Whether to buy, sell, bid, appraise, insure, or finance a vehicle, and at what price, is the user's decision and the user's responsibility. Users are expected to inspect a vehicle, or have it inspected, and to obtain a title history and any other diligence the transaction warrants. Rennsic is not a substitute for any of that and no part of a report should be relied on as the sole basis for a decision.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rennsic, its owner, and anyone who works on it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, reliance on, or inability to use the service or a report, including any purchase, sale, valuation, or financing decision, any lost profit, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damage, even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount paid to Rennsic for the report concerned in the twelve months before the claim.
Third parties
Rennsic is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any rental platform, marketplace, auction house, or vehicle manufacturer named or implied in a report. Names appear to identify where a listing appeared. Listing photos are reproduced as evidence of what a listing showed. Renter quotes are the contemporaneous words of the renters who left them. Neither is a statement by Rennsic.
